The Last Third Project
I am a Pharmacist, 78 years of age (not 78 years old) and still work a full-time job as a Pharmacy Manager and Supervisor. I never at any point thought about retiring. I love what I do, and I love the challenges of managing and running a business. My background is in Long Term Care Pharmacy and Retail Pharmacy with a specialty in Diabetic Management.
For years I thought about developing a product to help Diabetics with circulatory issues. As a Diabetic Specialist I had seen too many instances where surgical intervention became a necessary lifesaving alternative. So, finally at age 75 I decided to manufacture and distribute what I had dreamt about doing for many years. I launched KPW Laboratories, LLC in 2018 and started working on the formulation of what became, Renew Foot Cream.
A funny thing happened on the way. It made me think about how many other people in our age group had dreams and thoughts about where their lives would take them, and how many of those dreams either went unfulfilled, or never materialized.
Is refirement (replaces retirement) a place where we look back and wish what could have been, or is it a place to look forward to what can be?
So I’ve decided to launch a research project – The Last One-Third Project – relative to the last third of our lives. I’d love for you to participate. I realize that there is some finality to the title (Last Third Project), but the finality is the reality.
I thought this would be a lot of fun and open a discourse that would be fascinating and it’s only 10 questions. Please do not overthink your answers, and don’t spend a lot of time on these. Just answer what comes to your mind. The results will appear on my website – frankwretzel.com.
All answers and discussions will be held in strictest confidence and no names will appear in what is published on the website (unless you wish that to be).
